    Need help choosing IWB Clip Holster for a 642 J-Frame?

    I occasionally have the need to take my gun off and on during the day. I'm looking for a secure, discreet IWB kydex or leather clip holster for a 642 J-Frame. I have and like the Mitch Rosen "Clipper" (leather) and the RM Low Rider (Kydex) IWB holsters for my semi-auto pistols, but neither makes a holster like this for the J-Frame. Anyone have a recommendation?

    No loops please; I need to be able to clip on and off and it must be IWB. Thanks.

    I like inexpensive holsters, and Galco makes a soft leather holster called a "Sto and Go" that I use for this purpose. Obviously you can get better products if you throw down some more $$$$, but this holster has worked well for me.

    Based on my expertise (), I can only offer what to avoid;

    The Ace Case 'tuckable' is well-made, but has leather so soft that it collapses when you draw. Re-holstering is almost impossible without taking the entire holster out.

    Sadly, I've been destined to prove that cheap holsters don't work...

    BTW, have you checked out FIST Holsters (http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/holster/CATIWB.htm) ?

    I also have requirements where I need to un-clip quickly and discreetly. I personally haven't tried these out yet, but have 3 on order based on feedback from a respected member here.

    I've got high noon holsters "bare asset" IWB leather clip on rig that works well with my taurus 85UL. For the $25 or so I paid for it I'm very pleased with it.

    I have a half dozen of the FIST #1 clip holster for a variety of guns. Simple, elegant, strong and stable. Can't say too much about this holster as it is just great.

    My 442 J frame rides in a High Noon Hideaway that I picked up years ago as a close out for $25.

    I carry it appendix IWB and it works fantastic. To be honest I tried it in different locations and didn't feel comfortable till I tried appendix.

    I have Mr. Softy's for a few other subcompacts (all carried appendix). They are very affordable, quick to receive and so far have lasted/worn very well.

    I bought a Don Hume used here on classified and it really works good. I don't carry everyday in it--only when in semi dress clothes and it is great. Holds tight and is a good looking. I will look into his selection when I order one for my commander length 1911.

    i will say it. for the j-frame i use the clip draw belt clip. works just as good and/or better than a holster. now you will have many that say bad things about the clip draw belt clip. but i have used one on my model 60 for many mango seasons with no problems. it stay in placed,,,just like a holster.
