mine is on order, but I read on another forum a number of posters found the horsehide not very comfotable compared to cowhide. Or that it must take a long time to break it in-stiffer than cowhide. Any thoughts. I'm wondering if I should change my order to cowhide. I went with the horse as I live north of Houston.

I bought the horsehide last year. For two weeks it squeaked like a saddle, then quieted down and permanently molded itself to my side. Horsehide has been good for me.

I wouldn't worry about it. The horsehide is supposed to be more moisture resistant. I doubt that it takes longer to break-in, not noticeably anyway. I bought the cowhide, because humidity isn't a problem around here

If you have any humidity issues, you will be happy you have the horsehide.

Horsehide is a denser grain which makes it tougher/stiffer than cowhide. It's also more difficult/expensive to dye properly (which I imagine is one reason why CB only offers it in "natural" color). It will take a little longer to adopt the shape of your waist but it will eventually get there. Mine took about 10 days to finish breaking in, and I wore it for about 16 hrs a day.

has anyone tried sealing the conventional leather for their IWB holster? I ordered a Kholster and I'm going to look into it... I want to see if the sealant/waterproofing could cause some sort of reaction being on my skin all day.

I own both the cowhide and horse hide. Once the horese hide is broken in ( a few weeks) it is the way to go.

I have worn a Crossbreed (horsehide) SuperTuck with an M&P 9c, any time I leave the house since December '09, and haven't noticed any uncomfortable stiffness.
