K tec P11 w/clip .yeah, I know but it works ,and It suprisingly hasn't gone off ALL by itself.
    And a S&W M&P9c with a leather clip holster.
It feels alright. If I need to draw I can. I'm no Bob Munden, but I'll draw

It all boils down to practice and feeling comfortable with your carry mode. What works for one, will not for another. I'm already well into my 6th decade...I'm not really fast at anything anymore. I rely more on alertness and awareness of my surroundings.
As long as I don't have to worry about 'shootouts at noon on main street', I'm not going to rely on having 'top' speed. Yep my draw may be a bit slower than the younger guys, but this old man trusts no one and I see everything around me. I'm aware of the danger of 'interviews', thugs in dark corners (I avoid them), and predators roaming for victims. I refuse to be a victim, and that's why I practice, take SD courses, and read all I can...it isn't a guarantee that I will come out on top, but I'm not going down without a battle.

If you haven't given it a lengthy try, don't knock it.OMO

I do carry my Glock at 4:00 in an OWB many times, and I don't feel the least bit 'shortchanged' when I carry IWB/SOB at 5:00.

    Whatever works for ya'...

By slower draw I mean that the gun has to come from the back of my body to the side, instead of starting on my side and just having to point the barrel at the BG.

I do understand and agree...as in a point shooting technique, 'elbow up/elbow down, bang...can't do that from SOB.
