I said no thumb break but my OWB holsters are still carried concealed. If it were OC, then I might opt for the thumb break for weapon retention purposes should someone try to grab it. :yup:

No thumb break for any of my holsters.:nono:
No thumb break for cc.
When I OC yes, when I CC no.
Since you can not OC in TX, I voted No.
OC: yes
CC: no
Without IMO while thumb break is nice for a LE officer and retention ...I think most of the QUALITY holsters for CC have pretty good retention built in for CC purposes. As someone said if your in a Open Carry state and you open carry YES get it if you only CC no just get a good quality holster and it will have enough retention for CC purposes.
I carry OWB in a BLACKHAWK! Serpa. So rather than a thumb break, there's a button that you press with your trigger finger as you draw which releases the gun. Then as you draw, your trigger finger comes out naturally alongside the trigger, where it should be until you're on target.
I also have a leather holster with a thumb break.
Neither slows me down at all.
I know full well that a properly fitted holster will retain the gun it was made for. But no matter how many times I tell myself that, I have this nagging little feeling in the back of my mind that it's going to work itself loose. Consequently, if I wear a holster without a thumb break or other method of retention, I keep checking the gun — a real giveaway!
So for me — personally — I always use a thumb break.
i voted no thumb break, every split second counts in a life and death situation.
No thumbreak for me for CCW, maybe so if carrying open, but to each their own.
If concealed, add one more vote for no thumb break.
I voted "without," but I assumed concealed carry. For open carry, my vote would have been "with."
Sorry, I missed the OWB part. For OWB I like... Model 6377 ALS? Belt Holster | Safariland for a retention holster.
