As many of you know that have been following my progress as a hobby holster maker, you know I love elephant and stingray so I tried one using both! Ok, I love 1911's too. It's the "Black Widow"! I just like making stuff different and unique that not everyone has. I've also been accused of making stuff that no one would would wear! :o)
On this one I added a Crescent belt loop. It's more that just aesthetics. It allows a smaller belt to "bite" in a holster designed for a slightly larger belt. i.e. you can wear a 1 1/4 belt or a 1.5 in belt. Pretty cool feature. I had the punch custom made. Let me know what you think! This one needs a home. ( I know, shameless plug)

Take some black Artists Oil Color.
Brush it as thinly as possible over the red Stingray (really scrub it thinly into all of the recesses) and then wipe off as much as you can with a clean soft cotton rag.
That will tie both of them in together nicely and it will look less garish.
I like it and applaud you for being original in design and creative. Keep up the good work. Now that is what I would call a barbecue rig. What does a holster like that sell for?

I stuck it on ebay if it does not sell... make me an offer PM. Look up 1911 elephant holster. I don't think I am allowed to quote pricing on the forum and want to respect the rules. The good news is no wait time. I have two others (identical shape) one in solid chestnut elephant, the other solid black elephant that should be completed by Sunday night 4-2-10.
BTW, Thanks for all comments. Most of us carry concealed and would not be seen except by you when you cinch it on. Same reason some of us have a calendar with Lamborghini's on it, I guess. Fun to look at right! Keep in mind, I'll make what ever you want. :)

"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

I bought an elephant belt slide and elephant holster from Rob. He does great work and they are very nice holsters. I went to Wally Word today and carried my 5" 1911 in my OWB holster and covered it up with a t-shirt...Nice carry rig...Rob is a heckuva nice guy too...Big Larry...wish people like you would keep your negative opinions to yourself...Just my opinion..Robbie
P.S. I have DelFattis, TT Gunleathers, Milt Sparks...so I have something to compare Robs work to...
