Ankle holsters really need to have at least a 30deg cant. I bought a cheapy without a cant for my p3at, and it sucked. Skinny calves suck too.
Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it ......

I use a Don Hume ankle safe. I have no complaints with it. I use it daily and I love that it has a leg strap above the calf. I think it supports my gun much better with the strap. Other than that, I really can't say. I haven't used any other ankle holsters.

Welcome to the forum. I only have one Galco ankle holster with the calf strap for my Taurus 605. I really like it, comfortable and stable.

    Welcome!

I am going to purchase an ankle holster for my Kahr but I have absolutely no experience with any kind of holsters, whether ankle or IWB.

I'm a big guy so ankle carry will be the most comfortable for me. I know it's not the most tactical but I will be more apt to carry on my ankle versus in waistband etc.

If you want to try an ankle holster, start with the best: a Renegade Cozy Partner. I often wear one for 12 hours or more with my backup pistol, in complete comfort.

I'd suggest taking another look at a waist holster, though - you'll find getting to a CW9 on the ankle to be time-consuming. :) One bit of advice - check out the F.I.S.T. line of ultra-thin Kydex holsters. They are well-made, affordable, and add almost nothing to the thickness of your pistol. You might them a better choice than ankle carry only. I use one for my Kahr PM9 and am about to order another.

    Good luck!

Check out the Ritchie Leather Ankle Rig. He uses premium felt padding, top grade leather, high quality velcro and a metal cinch buckle. Nothing cheap in its components. Yes it is expensive but you will only have to purchase once and it will give years of service and still be ticking.

    Good luck in your search.

Another vote for Renegade. I've tried a few other brands, including some very expensive ones, but nothing works like Renegade for me.

I tried an expensive model in the seventies and it did have the padded leg strap. It was a true pain in every respect. If it wasn’t sliding down, it would bang on everything. Also, have ya ever tried going a full day without crossing your legs? It’s like having a fly on your nose with your hands tied behind your back!

I noticed a couple people saying that their rig was bumping into things. I wear my ankle holster on the inside of my left leg and have never bumped anything with it there. Am I missing something?

Thanks for all the input guys.

I decided on Blue Stone Wolverine Deluxe Ankle Holster

    Belly Bands - Blue Stone

I got it in today and it feels pretty comfortable and it has an extra strap for security in case I have to run or climb, etc.

Was relatively inexpensive at $39.95 shipped. I will let you guys know how it holds up in the days to come.
