How would you conceal an L frame snubby?

    Hi,

I'm planning on buying the 386NG. Do you think it's possible to CC in the summer for an avg sized guy? What would you use? Would it be too thick for IWB?

    Thanks

I carry mine, (686+ 2-1/2" bbl), in a FIST #12. You can carry your L frame revolver with the right holster and belt. I conceal mine under an untucked shirt. I use a Beltman belt with the pancake type holster and sometimes use a good pair of suspenders when carrying this gun. I'm not a big guy, 5'9", 165# but I like guns with some weight. K & L frame S&Ws are what I like.

Good question as I have a six-shot 686 2.5" on lay-away. I really wasn't intending to CC this particular gun, although what the heck.

An L-frame is just a snick fatter than a K-frame, and there are enough folks out there carrying Model 10s and 13s in IWBs. Might not be the most comfortable, though.

If you have the money, the Kramer MSP Paddle holster is a super rig. The gun rides at a medium height (Kramer calls it high ride, but I don't) so you'll need an untucked shirt or similar for a cover garment. There is a belt loop as backup to the paddle so you'll never draw a holster along with your gun. The butt of the gun stays in close to your side - doesn't flop outward.

Well, that Kramer sure is functional looking’ and I like the holsters’ attributes posted by ‘Gasmitty’. However, I will also state the photo doesn't appear to do it justice.

We have several customers who carry "N" Frame revolvers in our OWB #1R Holster.

Depending on your size and build, IWB carry is definitely a possibility. It works best for slender folks with wide shoulders. If you are a bit stouter in the waist it gets harder to keep the gun from showing.

I do IWB sometimes but I am much more comfortable with an OWB holster. I tuck in a T-Shirt and wear an unbuttoned shirt over it.

More than likely under the front seat. I figure it could just stay there.

I would venture to say with a Smartcarry,..but I'd just be kidding myself.
