My son just told me the other day that nobody besides me wears denim shorts. I didn't know they made any other kind. Or as I like to call them, dungarees.

Personally, I prefer the brown & tan colored leather holsters, but I agree with most of the posters here about matching it with your belt. I say this not for a fashion statement, but because if, for example, you're wearing it with a loose shirt covering it & for whatever reason you raise your arms & your holster & belt shows. Many people (Non firearm people, I'm guessing) are amazingly oblivious to their surroundings & if there's no contrasting colors to draw attention to, chances are people won't notice the holster. Just an observation.

So, I'd say match the belt you most likely use when CCing. I'm not saying match your belt, shoes, & underwear, just match what's showing with your belt.

Of course, taking cues from my wife, it is a good reason to need a holster in different colors, isn't it? I mean, honey, my black holster just doesn't "match" my belt & loafers, I need a new holster.

Nope. The suit was polyester (what else!?!). The shoes and belt weren't all that much of a problem buying "off the shelf" but I did have the holster custom dyed. Unfortunately, I have none of the items any longer (and couldn't fit in the suit or get the belt around my waist, anyway) or I'd post a photo.

I'm not good with color coordination, so I make sure my pants and shirts match well with the same black shoes and belt I wear every day. I have naturally attempted to have my holsters and weapons (firearms, knives, anything) also be black. This was the solution my female friends helped me come up with. It's easier than asking ... do I look retarded?

My SA XD40 SC is black, so my holster and belt are black to match.

Color does matter to a lot of us. Heck, nobody will see my new Milt Sparks PMK, which just arrived, yet I wanted the shark trim. For what its worth, I chose dark brown with the black shark. The combination looks good although if I had it to do over again I would have chosen black on black. Oh and yes, I still would have opted for the never to be seen ‘shark trim’. There's just something about the feel of a well crafted leather holster.

Good Guys Wear Black. I think it is less likely to show discoloration.

I have on order a black OWB holster from High Noon.

The reasons I chose a black holster:
    1) Will not show as much if accidently exposed.

    2) Since it is concealed, does not matter if you have a black or brown belt (I have both color belts - Looper Law Enforcement CCW belt).

    3) If you shoot at your gun club or IDPA range, black is more common. If your gun is solid black, it is less noticable as well as they blend together.

    4) The phrase... "Once you go black you never go back"... for some reason stuck in my head... so why not for holsters? (I am white by the way).

    5) I can tell my Liberal Obama supportor friends that I am supporting "blacks".... black holsters that is... and I will defend my home, family and self until my gun goes "click" instead of "bang"!!!

Good luck... tough decision and it really doesn't matter since it will be concealed... but I thought black just looked more "business" or "classy" looking.
