Whats a good brand of belt?

I am a short guy 5'5" 31-33 waist.... I am looking for a good belt, black and brown with a simple silver/nickle buckle preferably . I work in an office so the way I dress is usually khakis and button front shirt or polo.

any suggestions as to what I should check out?

I will probably catch a little flack for this but a year ago I was in Burlington coat factory and found a good stiff wrangler reversiable belt 1.5" wide and 1/4" thick with a plain silver buckle and have been using it for a year... Monday I was in Walmart and found a Dickies Reversible Belt 1.25 wide and 3/8 thick with a plain silver buckle and fairly stiff. Paid $10 dollars for each... If I can find another Dickies I will pick it up and store it, I have some pants that don't like the 1.5 inchers and I like its thickness. I will be interested in its durability... btw I have been parousing the belts nearly everywhere I go just to look and this is the first time and first WM I have seen this one...

I would imagine the consensus here would be Beltman belts, but they are costly...

I have been very impressed with my CrossBreed belt, and have also heard good things about the Beltman belts.

What type of weapon are you carrying and is it primarily for OWB or IWB?

Looper makes a very nice gun belt for not a lot of money. Mine is VERY stiff on the vertical axis but nice and compliant as it goes around the waist.

    Check it out:

Heard alot of good things about Beltman also. I have a belt from D.M. Bullard, excellent stitching, double layer, around $65 and didn't take long to get it.

For IWB carry you really don't need an expensive custom made [stiff] carry belt. I would suggest going to wally world (as already mentioned above) and find a 1.5" wide belt. Maybe one that tapers down to 1.25" would be ideal for office wear.

Just my pair of copper Lincolns.

Beltman quality is worth it IMO. They seem very nice.

There are several good belts out there. I'm very happy with my Crossbreed belt, and it fits your description.

I've carried on Sparks, Kramer, Wilson, Bianchi, Safariland, Rosen and Rafter-S belts. While my Rosen, bought in 1995 and worn a lot, looks new, all others show some wear. However, something important to look for is hole spacing, and Mitch puts the holes a bit farther apart than I like. Rafter S puts them closer together, for a "just right" fit, which is very important to easy, comfortable carry and good concealment. For the price, I think Rafter S is hard to beat, and they will do a 2-tone design like you've described.
