Can someone confirm that an Uncle Mike's size "0" holster fits a Taurus 617 2" barrel?

I can't confirm your question about an Uncle Mike's holster but I can confirm if it says it will fit a "K" Frame revolver, it will work. We have a local holster supplier who sells imported leather (from south africa)holsters very reasonably priced. I just got 2 for my 617. He told me that the Taurus 617 is almost identical to the S&W K frame. In fact he said that the Taurus was designed from S&W's back when S&W owned a percentage of Taurus.

Thanks, Geezer, that's good info. I was looking for a small. lightweight snubby to stick in a shoulder holster for carry around the house, yard, and shop/garage. Something like a Taurus 85 UL. I glanced down at this one in a pawn shop...nice finish - ok, Taurus - ok, Ribber grips - cool, oh, ported - excellent, wow - 7 shots, .357 Mag. - wrap it up! I'm a big fan of .357 mag, and K frames, so it's perfect for me.

Good luck with your 617, Keltyke. I was all set to buy a S&W 327 Night Guard, 8-shot, .357 mag. when the owner of the gun shop I go to told me she has sent the only other one she sold back to S&W several times for cracks in the scandium frame. I got the Taurus instead. It's heavier, but 7 rounds of .357 mag. gotta do some damage.

I love my 617 and carry it often. A holster for a K frame will work.

To those who recommended a K frame, size -0- Uncle Mike's holster, a big thanks! My nylon shoulder holster arrived today and it's a good fit for the 617. That 617 is an awesome, accurate little beast, too! I got it stoked with Hornady 158 gr. JHPs. Hard to find heavy .357 mag. rounds here, but I figure if you gotta be a bear, be a grizzly!
