    Finally got my MTAC!

My MTAC came in the mail on Monday!

I love it! It is very comfortable.

Only had one small issue with it so far and the problem was a small piece of kydex that fits into the trigger guard to aid in retention but would absolutely not release my 1911 from the holster once inside my waistband. I filed and sanded down the recessed piece of kydex and now it draws smooth as butter when I want it to, but stays put at all other times.

I even got a roll of smarties!

Pic #4 is my EDC except for my LED Lenser light; all included it is:

Original Wilderness Instructors Belt 1.75" C.S.M. lined
MTAC holster with holstered Springfield Armory M1911-A1 Mil-Spec .45 ACP w/ Hogue grips
    Gerber Evo Jr. Tanto
    Kershaw Leek 1660G10
Wal-Mart bought Dickies branded Perry Suspenders
A nylon mag pouch made by "Passport" bought for $8 at my local gun shop
2x Chip McCormick Shooting Star eight round magazines
17x rounds of Speer Gold Dot HP 230gr .45 ACP

In the mail to me: 1x Tripp Cobra Mag with hybrid follower, eight rounder

Mtac is nice. I really like mine. I can conceal well in shorts and a T shirt. My favorite (so far)

I do believe thar 'recessed piece' is supposed to be there and by loosening the retension screw that'd helped with the tight fit. Also the leather does require a short break-in period.

Yeah, the retention screws are at the least retention they can provide and not fall out, and I've been breaking in the leather. I gradually loosened retention until I almost had the screws out and it still would not release from the holster; then I discovered the culprit and removed it to the best of my ability: that little kydex depression. Smooth as butter and comfortable, wore it all day.

If it works and your happy, then it's perfect!

That MTAC is my primary, and most comfortable, holster during our long, hot Georgia summers.

Had to take to it with sandpaper again, but this time on the kydex that touches the upper portion of the slide and I may have to sand down the kydex that touches the frame because it is absolutely beating up the parkerized finish of my gun. Have one small little patch just forward of the ejection port that is showing bare steel.

I uesd my Dremel to 'smooth out' the rougher edges.

Also, I just noticed this.......suspenders AND a belt. You take NO chances do ya?

Congrats the MTAC is a great holster. It is very comfortable and provides great concealment. I have one for my G19,23,27. The open bottom on the shell allows for the longer slides too.

Congrats on the MTAC. I'm planning on the slide version for my XD45C and 40SC.
