    Homemade holster madness

    Hey Ladies and Gents,

As some of you know, I enjoy tinkering with kydex and making my own holsters. I wanted to show everyone a new design I have tried (at least i haven't seen this type anywhere else) that works really well in terms of comfort and conceal-ability. This is the first one of this kind that I have made so it has some cosmetic issues that need to be ironed out but it functions pretty well (for me at least). the most comfortable I have tried so far.

I'm curious to see what y'all think as I'm considering making a few more of these in a week or two and selling them for cheap ($30-40 range?) to get some feedback.

Overall this is a really thin rig and is super comfortable with no extra material sticking out anywhere- low profile. It won't win any beauty contests, obviously, but my first priority is function when it comes to CCW. Whats new about this one is that I have been able to put curvature in the kydex without sacrificing retention or fit. The curved kydex and angled leather does a great job distributing the pressure from the gun over a larger area.

I also have OWB attachments for it that aren't shown here.

That is very, very nice work. I would be a bit concerned about the screw heads on the back of the holster since they don't fit flush. But overall, that is a very attractive hybrid design!

Looks nice. Wondering why you put the slotted heads against the body, any chafing from that?

yeah, thats first on my list to remedy. The chicago screws you see there are all i have right now. I'm currently looking for some flat head chicago screws to order, but have not been able to feel the difference from what I'm currently using.

Nice! Interesting looking design. I'd be curious to see how it's put together in a little more detail. What advantages have you found to this setup?

    cj,
i find that having a curved face of kydex against the body makes it much more comfortable than having the shape of the gun pushed into your side. It definitely cuts down on the number of pressure points you have to deal with.

    Thanks for the positive comments!

For anyone who is interested, I am selling two holsters similar to this for a Kahr CW9 and XD subcompact 9/40 in the "member buy sell and trade" section on the forum.
