    Thanks Rob.

You need to vist Grashorn's site. His pricing is relatively inexpensive, considering the custom work and turn-around time on delivery.

BTW, mine are not Grashorn made Stags. Not really sure on the maker, but Grashorn confirmed they were made from sambar horn. Not many custom stocks are available for the Model 40 as it is not a typical j-frame revolver. Not even Grashorn could make them.

I purchased them from a fellow s&w forum member.

I like that model 40... I talked to Mr Grashorn yesterday...heckuva nice guy..I am torn between a set of stags or a lesser expensive set of wood grips...I found some ahrends that are nice...but I am afraid I will be less than happy with them. I love nickel revolvers...

I think you want them for a 640..? Correct?

If so, for Stags I'd also go with an added t-grip. If you intend to practice with, and carry 357 loads, you'll need the extra grip to help maintain controllabilty.

Well, there you go. Felt recoil will not be an issue.

Your 640 would definitely look killer in a set of stags, for sure. Get the t-grip anyway..

He did the medallion install on mine...

Wow! Both of those stag grips are beautiful. It's funny how each set seems to give a special impression all their own. I espically like the bark on the top set of grips.

Obviously, only one photo showed up here. The top set I refer to are those posted by loveleather.

Grashorn Grips are first-rate in my opinion. I had them done for 2 Ruger New Vaqueros and they were super sharp looking! Highly recommended.
