Comp-Tac IWB Neutral Cant holster review

    Hi All,

In my continuing search for a suitable IWB holster for my PF9 (my first was the Hidden Ally from High Noon holsters), I purchased a Neutral Cant holster from Comp-Tac. The Hidden Ally is an excellent holster, but I found I wanted a sweat guard for comfort.

    Here are some pictures:

    Pros:

The holster leather is very well made. The Kydex shell fits perfectly around the PF9. Retention is excellent. The thin Kydex clips are less noticeable than the thick metal clip from the Hidden Ally (IMO). It is easily the most comfortable holster I have tried to date.

    Cons:

In the assembly process, the Kydex shell was not aligned correctly with the leather backing, allowing the gun slide to be off center with the sweat guard. This really bothers me, so I am going to send it back to see if it can be corrected. I am worried that I am expecting too much though, what do y'all think? Do you think this is a petty issue and I should let it go? If I thought I could fix it myself, I would try, but with four holes to redrill, I am worried I would mess it up and void the warranty.

It doesnt look right to me. Might call the company and send them some pictures so they can see what you are talking about. I dont think its petty at all and I bet they will work with you to make it right.

It is an IWB holster. Who is ever going to see it? That said, I think I like my ugly CBST better, the back is soft side leather without the sheen, I think all that shiny leather would promote sweating... something that I need no help with to begin with.

That's a lot of leather for a little gun. IMO AIWB is easiest with a minimalist holster, this just seems like it's excessive and would be uncomfortable.

It does not look right to me either. I would definitely send it back.

I have a com-tac iwb holster for my PF-9. It does not have all that additional leather on it. It is compact and conceals the gun extremely well.

I also have a crossbreed supertuck for my XD9 which is an excellent holster. The holster in the photo appears to be very similiar to the supertuck but something is definitely wrong with the design of it.
