    a belt question

    Bear with me for a moment as I don't know proper belt terminology.

    Most belts have a small ring or loop sewn into the belt that is designed to hold down the "leftover" part of the belt. I'm not sure what that loop is called.

    I'm looking for a gun belt where that loop is metal rather than leather. It's just an asthetic choice. I saw a few non-gun belts with a metal loop and I thought it looked very good. The loop on my current belt broke off after about 12 years of use so I guess the metal one could be considered functional too. I suppose I shouldn't be wearing the same belt 12 years later.

    It may be best to find a Buckle Set that you like and supply it to the Belt Maker.

    The "loop" is called the Keeper.

    I've never seen them offered. It may be something you can add to the belt later or supply to the maker.

    Contact Ritchie Leather as their belts will be using a metal keeper.

    Mr. Drove;
    As posted the pc you are talking about is called a "Keeper". Most copy the belt in question. However you can get fancy and get a metal tip, buckle and/or keeper.

    #1 - What width is your old belt ? And #2 - if it's 12 yr's old, it may be time for a new belt of your liking. However, if your in love with your old belt I will be more than happy to try to match the color of your belt and send you a keeper (providing the keeper is installed with Chicago Screws) at no cost.

    If we can help, just let us know.

    Al,

    I really like Springfield Leather as an all around supplier. Great customer service, and quite a few buckle sets to choose from. (Prices shown go down considerably when you set up a wholesale account, which is super easy)
