1st time out w/ safepacker- friend did ask
So this weekend I tried out my wilderness safepacker.
It worked very well, was quite comfy, and didnt get a 2nd look from people in stores (no surprise there).
Met a friend of mine at the movie and she commented on how cool and hip it was
I told her that ya, I prefered it over a normal purse b/c purses are such a pain to tote around and Im bound to leave them somewhere, etc. She asked if it weighed much, etc. I told her it really wasnt uncomfortable and that I tried not to pack it full of junk.
No problem
She doesnt know I carry yet, but does know I shoot. My husband snickered a little bit during out little girly 'purse' convo, but it went well. Although I dont plan on this for EDC, I think its quite handy, and will be especially for camping/hiking and working around outside especially.
All in all its a great holster and Im very glad I got it. I got the 5" 1911 size (for my 3") and put a piece of foam in the bottom so that I could use it for larger guns as well. No problems there at all either. Pretty nifty little thing if you ask me!

If something allows you to carry more often and comfortable at the same time. I see nothing wrong with it. +1

I love going to the flicks and packing heat. It gives me a great sense of security in an avenue crammed with complete strangers.
Glad you found a comfy way to pack.

yep. its really nice when having to sit for a long time or do a lot of walking. if i am going back and forth between walking and sitting, i prefer IWB, but this option is great for a lot of things

Those always struck me as a sort of Open Concealed Carry.
Basically, you have an OWB holster on, but it doesn't look like it. I've thought about getting/making one.
Thanks for the review.

I use one regularly, and nobody has reacted as if I were carrying a gun.
Evilmonk, you are right, it is open/concealed carry. The Safepacker actually meets the OC language of some jurisdictions, which allow the weapon itself to be hidden if the case or holster is visible, yet meets the CC regs of jurisdictions that require the weapon itself to be concealed.

Nice, may have to add one to my collection of carry options.
