First, register your trade name in your state.
Second, form a corporation (S-corp or LLC, if available in your state). This creates a separate entity for your business operations and provides some (not complete) protection of your personal assets from liability claims.
Third, speak with your insurance agent about business insurance, especially liability coverage. What you are making will be used by people while they are physically handling and using loaded firearms, and not all of those people will be highly trained or competent. In the event of an accidental or unintentional discharge resulting in personal injury or property damage you can expect a lot of trouble coming your way.
Good luck in your endeavors.
Absolutely what he said. The name creation thing is fun but C.Y.A.
Do NOT EVER think that a "jury of your peers" is actually made up of people like you/us etc. Sometimes, there might be one or two but more than likely, they are just D.A. Sheeple. After all, they put "him" in office. WTH?

What ever name you choose make it meaningful to you.
What does Rocket City mean? Will your customers care or wonder why it is named that way? (not saying it is good or bad but much better than the origional 3)
What is the differentiators for you?
In the end there is no right or wrong answer just make sure it is unique on the internet and in your state your applying in. Before you announce the winning name buy the name with a dot com and dot net extensions.
Good luck!

The trade name is actually Lobo Gun Leather and is owned by CoryCo LLC, a limited liability company that I formed for my business endeavors.
"Lobo" is the Spanish word for wolf. My shop is on the south bank of the Arkansas River in Pueblo, Colorado, which was Spanish territory prior to the Louisiana Purchase and the Spanish language is still in common use around here. The trademark is a wolf's head, staring at you face-on and ready for whatever happens, which is exactly as I have experienced with wolves in the wild.
The company motto is "serious equipment for serious business, since 1972".

I personally think simple is better.
(Your last name) Holsters
(Your last name) Leather or Gun Leather
Rocket City... Sounds good, but might not make sense if you moved somewhere else.

name it Turd Ferguson Holsters or T.F. Leather. that or maybe GunHide Inc. or Gun Shadow or Organic Carry. IDK. Turd Ferguson is the best, nobody would ever forget it!

Simple... And will be near the top of the page on listings.
You can incorporate a Road Runner on your logo. Or maybe a Coyote? Just make sure you don't do a copyright or trademark violation of the cartoon.

By adding "Emporium" into the name it sounds more like someone that is selling holsters rather than making holsters. Personally, I would drop the "emporium" part of the idea. I vote for Huntsville Holster & Leatherworks....

I voted for Rocket City Leather Works.
BTW, what the frak happened to the "Holster #18" thread?!?!?! It say "Moved" but then you can't access the frakkin' thread!!!! Why was it "Moved"?!?!
If I start my own thread about that same holster - which I received today! - will it also be "Moved"????
