So I finally got my permit on Wed in the mail from NYS. Thursday brought me a S&W M&P 40. I need recommendations for an IWB holster. I know Cross Breed's get a lot of good recommendations around here, but what do YOU recommend? Looking to buy within a week or so - tell me what to get!
btw, I'm looking primarily for an IWB, however I live in WNY, and winter is around the corner, which means hoodies and coats, so I'm open to suggestions on OWB as well...

There are some up and coming holster makers and some real pros that are DC members. I am not in the market for another one but I will be spending my money with some of them when I do.
Until you figure out what you really want, just grab a $10-$15 generic IWB holster, such as Blawkhawk! or Uncle Mikes. They're NOT a long-term solution, in my opinion, but will get you by until you decide on a "real" holster.
Good holsters can be found in a whole range of type and prices, some people not only like a good functional holster but like a ferrari, some people would really like a ferrari but got Pinto money,do some research, some people got holster drawers of ones they bought and didn't like....I got one of holsters I made and didn't like.Nothing is worse than griping about a holster that didn't work out,but when your the one that made it it's humbling
I'd take a hard look at the MTAC, CTAC and Supertuck. There's a much better chance that you'll find these holsters comfortable for your preferred carry position because you have the ability to adjust them to a cant and ride height that is comfortable for you. Other holsters don't offer that. I will disagree with the "buy a cheap one for now" comments. Spend that money on a Wilderness belt or put it toward the holster that will last.
adaman I agree with you - i don't like to waste money. Going to do the research first. Shitty part is that I can't try any of them for feel before I buy. I wish I could get hands on something like that first. I'm happy winters coming - my summer attire is adidas soccer shorts. I'm assuming carry w/those wouldn't work out too well...
Take a look at the Comp-Tac Gladiator. Have had mine for 2 weeks now and conceals a Sig 220 Carry under a Polo shirt very well and is very comfortable. It is an OWB.http://comp-tac.com
