I have 2 gun belts . A Beltman horsehide 1.5 inch(seven hole) that is my dress belt.
The second belt is a 5.11 casual leather 1.5 inch that I wear for work and hanging around.
It's like comparing a Bentley with a Ford they both do the job but one does it with more beauty and class.

My Instructors belt from Wilderness Tactical arrived less than 4 days after ordering it to replace an Uncle Mikes Instructors belt that was slightly too small.

WOW! I got the 1.5" 5 stitch in black and its incredible. Slightly less stiff than the uncle mikes but holds a full size Hi Power and 2 spare mags without a hitch. Very comfortable. If you dont tuck in your shirts this is the way to go.

    >$50 to my door in just a few days.

I have seen comments online that the Galco Matrix and Maxpedition Liger belt are made of either the same or extremely similar material - do you concur with this?

Blackhawk Alligator finish: Inexpensive. Works, but looks and feels cheap.

Liger: Fantastic belt. Works great and holds up well. Has "grabby" surface which keeps holster from moving around. Unusual buckle may not be to everyone's taste.

Galco Matrix MX1: A "sleeper". Works very well as a gun belt, but does not feel stiff like others. Is holding up well and was very inexpensive. Only available in 1-1/2" black.

crossbreed belt it stays round even when not worn... got it with velcro sewn in to the inside so you can on that rare occasion if you have to dress up and tuck in you can ... Crossbreed sells velcrow straps for your holster (will fit most holsters) to replace the clips so you can tuck a shirt, went to wedding out of state had to dress up was able to and still carry without anyone knowing...

    A Better Belt USA

Here is a company located in Houston that makes the double layer belt as well as a double layer with kydex liner for a very good price. I have used this belt for about a year now and love it more and more

The one I got from Tractor Supply for $19.99, great belt and going strong.

The amish ones are great too, I wear one every day.

Let me throw another one out: Captain Itch over at the Tennessee Holster Co. (Leather Holsters for Springfield XD, Glock, 1911, M&P, Beretta, Ruger, Sig, Taurus, Kahr,). Their reinforced gun belts are extremely solid, but a little pricey (you can see a demonstration here: Captain Itch Gun Belts - YouTube ). Their regular belts work very well as a gun belt, and are reasonably priced. Plus I think they're a dream to work with.
