Left handed IWB for a 1911

I have a taurus Pt 1911,and I love it. just have one problem, I'm left handed and need some kind of left handed IWB holster/belt setup. I've poured over the forums and there seems to be a million diffrent holsters for right handed shooters but not much for southpaws.I kinda like the kydex/leather combinations like the Crossbreed. but if anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear from you.

If you are looking for use, good luck. If you want new, any maker worth anything will have left-handed versions. Like anything else left-handed, sometimes you just have to cough up the cash.

Most holster makers make left hand versions of their products. Crossbreed certainly does as do most of the sponsers listed at the top of the page.

I like my kimber 1911 UCII and crossbreed supertuck. I have a Glock 26 as a BUG. My next purchase will be a nice gun belt. I would also look into Comp tac MTAC holsters. They're similar to crossbreed. I want one for my glock.

I have comp tac lefties for most of my guns...but my 1911s usually ride in a left handed TT Gunleather rig. I like leather for 1911s for some reason.

Most anything that can be made in right-handed format can be crafted in lefty as well. If you find a holster you're comfortable with for a given mid- to large-sized pistol, ask the holster maker if one can be made for 1911/lefty. Likely, you'll find it available for the making (though, almost certainly not on the shelf for immediate shipment).

The 1911 being as popular as it is, though, you can probably find a few in inventory. Here are two places that I've purchased from previously, each of which tend to have a decent inventory in stock, particularly for the popular guns:

If having one made, consider Fist holsters. They are relatively quick on turnaround, (4-5 weeks, typically), and the quality is good. A true custom shop, you can request various changes (ie, sweat shield, cant, height, color, snap/open top, etc).

I also have a DC Special holster from H.B.E. Custom Leatherworks. Well made, fits great. Mine if for the H&K P2000SK, but it's a lefty IWB. I'd highly recommend HBE's designs and quality. You can often find in-stock items available for immediate shipment, on his web site. Right now, for example, there is a Classic Pancake holster for a 5" Gov't 1911 pistol (RH, not lefty).

I make Tar PT1911 railed (yep I have the real sized form) or non-railed for lefties all the time. Check out my site for options for you.

Where is this? Can't seem to find any web site named "Actions Speak Lauder Than Words" (or, "... Speak Louder Than ..."). Do you have a link?

Being left handed also, I find that holsters for us folks are not a problem at all (compared to other things in this right handed world). My four 1911's all find their home in different rigs. MTAC for the two 5", Milt Sparks VM2 for the 4", and a Sam Andrews McDaniel for the 3". I don't carry the 5's much any more and the MTAC is getting a new slide for my recently acquired G36.

I carry my 1911 in a Galco Ultimate Second Amendment IWB tuckable and love it. The store I frequent for holsters had one in LH in stock. It's simple and functional!

I just got notification that mine will be shipped out tomorrow. Galco makes some decent off-the-rack leather holsters too.

Make sure you get a good gun belt or you're wasting your time.

One poster mentioned Lighting Arms. I recently got an email that they were selling their inventory of Milt Sparks since they will not be carrying any longer. I would think that they would have a VMII for a 1911 for people who shoot with the wrong hand in stock.
