HK P2000sk and MTAC issue
Does anyone else use an MTAC for thier P2000sk? Mine doesn't cover the back end of the slide/hammer and therefore it pokes me in the side. Comptac says I have the new wider backing but it still doesn't seem to fit the gun quite right. I have another MTAC for my XDm and it fits perfectly.

Did you show the picture to Comp-Tac or just talk with them via phone/email?

I've sent them the picture, still waiting to see what can be done. Since they have one backing for all the different models I may be hosed.

My impression is that although they have a custom-formed plastic housing for each gun, they use the same leather backing for all guns. Therefore I expect that the sweatshield portion of the leather backing fits some guns better than others. For example, with my Kahr CW9 I find the sweatshield is TALL enough, but it's not quite in the right place from front to back, so it doesn't fully shield the slide of my gun. This is a bit annoying, but what I'd expect from a "one size fits all" leather backing. HTH

That's one reason why I use a Crossbreed SuperTuck with my P2000sk. I have the MTAC also and the Crossbreed has significantly better coverage in just the areas you're complaining about. My brother used his MTAC for over a year until he gave the Crossbreed a week-long trial. He never went back to the MTAC either.

Do you have a photo from the back? Does it stick out past the sweat shield like mine?

You actually have the older style with the slightly more narrow sweat shield, notice that mine is a little wider, but yours actually covers more of the gun :) CompTac emailed stating that I have the latest and greatest design..... ha!

Have them slide the Kydex shield 1/4 of inch down, that should do it...

I just checked how much of the hammer extends beyond the sweat shield on mine. From looking at your photo and at my p2000sk in my MTAC, it seems to me that mine extends beyond the end of the sweat shield just a smidgen less than yours (less than 0.1", closer to 1/16th).
You might check that the retention screws are not too tight, since really cranking down on the tension can keep the gun from seating fully, especially the screw closest to the muzzle.
