I've got this old kydex holster I'd like to modify. I'd like to replace the belt straps with J hooks. Is this possible? I've seen J hooks offered as an option, but don't know if they are sold separately or if I need a specific style. I know the existing straps/snaps come right off because the male end is held on with screws.
Can someone here point me in the right direction?
I would suggest calling a holster mfg such as Crossbreed and asking them. They are a sponsor on this forum and I would think they would have everything you would need.
I've dabbled in holsters, making most of my own, but not kydex, leather. If we could see a pic of it, I might be able to determine the possibilities.
I have re-molded my old Crossbreed holster to accommodate a different gun, so I know that is possible.
I can tell you that kydex clips are quite expensive ...if I remember correctly, they cost me around $17 for a pair and I'm not sure if that included shipping.
Thanks, Freedom. I know I read on here where some guys have modified their own holsters.
And shoot... I forgot to upload the pic I took. lol Coming right up!
Good call! I was going to point out that Kydex clips are probably one of the simpler kydex things to make yourself, but the clip you found there looks even sturdier!
