I can not get used to IWB, it is downright uncomfortable to me, but it seems the IWB worn outside the pants but inside the belt holds the gun closer, and conceals more, if a shirt is worn outside. Any thoughts, anyone?

Is it uncomfortable in that your pants are now too tight? If so, a size larger will alleviate that.
On occasion I've worn my MTAC owb with pants that are too tight on me. The belt goes outside the gun/holster just as if it was iwb and it's worked fine. The only thing to be conscious of is that you no longer have any concealment from you pants and have to be aware of how you bend to avoid exposing.
That is the way I wear virtually all holsters, regardless of type.
I don't like them either. That's why I have a shoe box of IWB holsters that I never wear anymore. I just keep them around just in case I ever decide to wear IWB.

May be difficult for many to grow accustomed to wearing an IWB holster IWB. Thing is....if you wear an IWB holster between your belt and pants, than it's going to make a larger print and you might just as well find an applicable OWB holster that you can conceal with. Depending on your physical characteristics and your choice of carry pistol, this leaves a lot to be considered. IWB is definitely most concealable for me. I have used my IWB holsters to carry openly though. I simply tuck in my shirts behind them or on the inside. I can seldom conceal wearing an OWB holster without a cover garment. There are plenty of options available......you just have to become the field engineer that puts it all together (sometimes easier said, than done). Two things to keep in mind.........(A) be adaptable...to your environment, your dress, your comfort level...etc. (B) verify the reason as to why you've decided to carry a firearm for personal protection and put this on top of the list of priorities. That way, you'll be more focused with the will to survive and live than some silly notion of being uncomfortable or unwilling to deal with your current gear. May not be easy. Ask the folks who crossed the Mississippi in the new land. Only reason there is a California. Enduring Indian attacks, frozen winters, disease, hardships, and the human spirit made everything west of the Mississippi exist to this day. If the early settlers ever got tired of the conditions, the challenges, their loved ones dying, etc...... This country would only be half what it is today. No comment about California's existence specifically....but you get my gist. The REAL hardships were back in the day. We've got it easy now no matter what sort of situation perplexes us at the time.
Roger, what kind of gun is it? I find IWB uncomfortable as well, but that there is a world of difference in comfort between a thin single stack and a double.

I use IWB so I can tuck my shirt between my pants and holster. Then blouse my short a little. conceals well. After my holster broke in I forgot it was there.
IWB is going to conceal better than an OWB, but either is possible and both can be easily concealed.
Here are two I use...

Most the time this is iwb.
I'm trying to figure out what you gain, unless your britches are too tight...
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.

Imagine this whole thing except the loops and what is above it all inside the 501's. It is more comfortable like this - and yes, if I have on jeans that are too tight for iwb I sometimes go owb.
Surely you can see that it would be more comfy
(actually, this holster is pretty darn comfortable inside the jeans, so this particular one is probably not a good example)
