Anyone heard of The Leather Arsenal holsters?

I have an opportunity to get an IWB holster from The Leather Arsenal for my Sig 228. Retail for the holster is in the $70 range, but I am going to be able to get mine much, much, much lower. Anyone have any experiences with these? I went on their website and found that M. Ayoob had good things to say. All comments would be greatley appreciated.

Aside from Ayoob many others have had good things to say about these. I keep seeing them on e-bay for extremely low prices and it makes me wonder if they are the original or a cheap knock-off. The design is kind of weird also, but it is the original design as I looked it up in a book I have on holsters. They are supposed to be very comfortable and concealable. If you give them a try let us know what you think.

I have been told that Leather Arsenal owner/holstermaker Elmer McEvoy was one of Milt Sparks first employees. Note that both are in Idaho.

eBay is where I saw them. These had a couple of stains on the leather from packing glue and that was why the guy was selling them cheap.

Elmer has a reputation for being a real perfectionist. I've never seen an actual example of his work, but would not hesitate to give it a try. It's supposed to be really good stuff.

I looked at them again and although the stains are pretty funky who cares, no-one will see them and the guy selling them was honest about it. Can't go wrong for the price. Looks just like a Sparks Summer Special except for the weird hook at the bottom.

Alright, I just bought one off of eBay. When I get back in town in a few days, I'll post what I think about these and if they are worth their salt I'll let you guys know. $12.50 for a $70 holster.....we'll see.

I ordered one to try too and one for old lady to try she thinks she would like to get ccw and pack a 1911 course she can't try any of my holsters as i'm lefty and she is not

Some times ya just don't want to pack something like you max con since you know it will be working in the rain or something to that effect and a cheeper holster you don't worry about trashing

This coming from Mr. Brommeland is an advertisement in & of itself! Gary, If I may; I commend you on your surprisingly & refreshingly fine attitude toward your fellow artisans & leather crafters..!
You rather remind me of similar relashionships between guys like "Sandy C. & Larry S.;" Certainly some of you know to whom I refer or other surprising relations betwen folks like "RJ H. & Ron G. ..!" Well said Sir..!

I've been looking at these for a while. I went to the Leather Arsenal web site last night and decided that it was worth the $12.50 to try it. I paid more than that for a nylon holster.

    Cool Got mine...pics

Well, I just got my Leather Arsenal holster from Sea J's on eBay. Chris was quick on the replies and the shipping. Here are some pics with my Dan Wesson PM3 (5" bbl):

You can see just how "blemished" mine is...not much. It will have more sweat stains than that little glue mark before long!

    Now...the inside...

I just put the rig on with a military issue 1 1/4" web belt...and a very thin cover shirt. I am amazed. The piece disappears and it is very comfortable. I can't wait to put it on with my gun belt.

All in all... I declare it a good buy for $12.50 (incl S & H)
