Tell me about your belly bands

I'm thinking about getting a belly band for my 1911 because it looks like it conceals the gun well while also being pretty comfortable.

Tell me about your experience with belly bands.

I have one that I use to carry my Glock 27 and S&W Airweight. I have the original Bellyband brand. It works very well for those times when you need deep concealment in dress clothes. My 27 totally disappears and cannot be seen. Ive also tried my Glock 23 and my 3 inch SP101. To me they are a little to large for the belly band, but I can carry them. A full size 1911 seems to me may be to large. I sometimes wonder if the thin elastic that holds the gun is enough to secure the Glock trigger. For this reason I carry my S&W more often. I also bent over to tie my shoe one time and my G27 feel right out of the holster into my shirt. I think they are a great way to carry when you dont wear a belt like with shorts or bib overalls. But I will probaly be looking at one that secures my Glock a little better such as a Galco. If you try the original Bellyband they run small. Get one size larger.

I have a Galco Bellyband. It does a great job of deep concealment. It works for several of the guns I own and it affords me with several carry position options. These positives are offset by just how uncomfortable I find the thing to be. I've had it for over 10 years but seldom use it.
