Blackhawk Cqc Serpa Holster...opinions?

I'm getting a Glock 23 for my birthday and I'm looking for a good holster. I've been told that the Blackhawk SERPA Holster holds the weapon closer to the body (for conealability) better that any belt or paddle holster in it's class. If anyone actually uses one or knows someone who uses one, I'd really appreciate some feedback.

After using the Serpa for a while,I find it to still be a good holster for OWB carry.

Two people I work with have them, both OWB, and both people like them a lot. I was impressed as well - but I just got to play, couldn't steal one for a day of carry....

Its very secure and with practice its very fast. I did do one small modification to mine. I cut a small indentation below the release button so iI didn't have curl my trigger finger on the presentation. It helped a lot. Use a Dremel and go real slow. They have done this mod on thier tactical rig. It works.

I have one for my glock 17.It's a good holster that keeps your pistol
secure.Ithink it would be great for someone using it for4 wheeling
as it very secure with lock in feature.

I just bought one for my birthday for my Sig, takes a little getting used to, but I quite like it, so fast pulling out compared to my generic nylon holster, that I had to slow the draw down. It does take practice. Read the threads provided and looked at my gun and holster. I fail to see how it could possibly cause an AD unless perhaps you are using the wrong holster for the gun.

Shows off my 226ST quite nicely, no point having a shiny gun at the match if people can admire it!!

I also have the Serpa holster. It works well for me but I find it creates one problem. Whenever I try to draw from my Answer IWB holster I sometimes try to push the release button (only once). My Answer holster doesn't have a release button.

I purchased a Blackhawk SERPA CQC holster to use with my XD45. Although I really liked the retention system, I felt that it held the gun too far from my side. I tried it both as a paddle holster and belt holster without any improvement in concealability.

I recently purchased a Don Hume Open Top holster and am now completely happy.

I have a couple. I like them for shooting from the house or out in the woods but as far as out in town they are not helpfull as a cc holster. I am 5'9 , 165 and they stick out way to fat to hide unless I ware a leather jacket.

I really liked my Blackhawk SERPA holster for my Glock 23. I found it did conceal better with the belt attachment, compared to the paddle.

I have since switched to a Laredo Defender by K&D, much better for conceal-ability! But I still have the Blackhawk and will not be getting rid of it.

Might try getting a good gunbelt. It can help a lot. I have a Beltman double layer bullhide belt with the plastic stiffener and it holds my 45 close in.

I use a Blackhawk Serta for my XD45 Tactical. It keep's the gun away from my body too far to hide well. But it is great for the range
& just kicking around in the country!
