low riding AIWB for J frame

I recently purchased a 642. I am looking for a low riding IWB holster. I have purchased a ComTac 2 o clock and a Highnoon Mr Softy. I like them both and both are quality holsters. The problem I have is they ride too high for me. I have a worn out Uncle Mikes for a larger gun that works fine and makes it comfortable. I would like the handle to ride right at the belt line. This is how my Glock 26 rides in my Highnoon holster I have for it. It seems that with the ones Ive tried the trigger guard is level with my belt which leaves the grip,though accesable to poke into my ribs. I prefer pocketcarry but sometimes its not an option. I find it more comfy to carry my 26 than my 642 and I know this cant be the case. Does anyone have or can recommend a low riding IWB holster I carry in the appendix posistion if that makes a difference.

Consider the Fist #1KB. It allows you to adjust both the height and cant anywhere you want. My wife has used one for about a year and loves it. I am waiting for the one I ordered for myself.

I use a Desantis ballistic nylon model Prostealth J frame. I carry both my SW mdl 638 the airweight j frame with a shrouded hammer and my double action only Ruger SP101 in it with no problems. In fact I'd have to say those are my favorite two handguns to carry IWB as for comfort and quick access. The wear this holster by using the clip right on the waistband of the shorts or pants I wear and I never hardly wear a belt and have had no problems yet with this type of carry.

Could either of you post a pic or email or text me a pic while wearing the holster? Just sorta curious where the grip lies.

Have you considered installing Barami Grips? IMHO, the BGs provide an optimum method of stealth carry (deep IWB with no added bulk).

There is a several month wait but the quality is excellent.

My 442 rides nice and low with the grip on the beltline in a High Noon Hideaway. The large clip allows me to angle it just right.

I carry an MK9 appendix often and noticed the Mr. Softy made for it rides too high. Tried it in the Mr. Softy I have for the XD9SC and got the MK back down low to (and below/tucked) the beltline.

azchevy...appendix carry works well don't it?

I've been toying with appendix carry using a Remora holster and a j-frame. It works well for me. The Remora is a no-clip design that lends itself very well to versatility. You can adjust the cant, height and carry position with ease.

+1 to the Barami Hip Grips. I've had them on my 642 since day one, and wouldn't use anything else for the J frame.

Keep in mind that you don't want it so deep that you can't get a good grip on it! :wink:
