    Hook and loop holster

Anyone out there know of a full holster with a hook backing?

The wife is getting me a Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger for Christmas, and I'm looking for a holster to mount on the loop panels in it.

The one Maxpedition offers does not appeal to me, as it's simply a nylon loop. I would prefer a full coverage holster.

Something like an Uncle Mikes with a retention strap would be just fine, but they don't have one with a loop backing AFAIK.

The closest I've found is this one.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if it's the right way, meaning I'm not sure if it's hook or loop on the holster side but I know Crossbreed's new bedside holster might fit the bill.

    Good luck;)

Industrial strength velcro is available at AC Moore craft stores. I just sewed some to the back of a pocket holster. Kind of a pain, but you do what you have to.

Jason, I had thought of that, but I am terrible with a needle!

Rocky, I had seen the 5.11, but passed on it in favor of the Tac Force due to the retention.

Now the Ohai, that's got me interested. I've seen it around, but never realized it had Velcro attached. I'l shoot them an email and find out which way the Velcro is facing and post back.

    Thanks all!

Fist has the #1KB which is a kydex (or leather) clip on holster where the clip is attached to the holster body with velcro. Depending on which piece is attached to the body, you might be able to use it without the clip.

I was in a hurry posting that yesterday but another thing to consider or think about might be just making something yourself out of kydex if your handy. It's pretty easy stuff to work with and rather cheap, just another thought. I think if you ran the good industrial velcro with the adhesive on the back of rig it would likely be fine. One thing to note about kydex, not much sticks to it very well it's designed to not stick of sorts;) So I'm not sure how well the adhesive will work on just kydex, you might have to go the hybrid kinda route, like the crossbreed. Or just buy the crossbreed;) But it was just another idea!

    Take care

Woodlark, I don't doubt you, but I can't find the holster you described on their site for the life of me...

Luke, I'd love to start working with kydex when I can find the time, but that may still be a while out.

So in the meantime, the OHAI is the leading choice...

Look here http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/k1/1KB.htm. It is under a link for "New Holsters and Options" on their main website.

Which is why I couldn't find it. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it looks like the loop portion is on the holster body, which makes sense as it would be the part pressed against your side...

You're right. However, since Fist builds each holster to order, they would probably reverse the velcro if you asked.
