Need opinions on Sparks summer special 2 please
Anyone here carry in one of these rigs,if so whats your opinion of it? I have and like an original summer special but what are the main differances between the two holsters? I know the SS 2 has a sweat shield and interchangable belt loops, but does it also sit lower in the waistband then the original summer special rig does? Also is the cant more foward then SS 1? I am getting another 1911 soon and my current carry gun is an HK usp compact in .40S&W I am interested in getting one of these rigs for both guns FWIW thanks for any feedback guys.

The only differences are the sweat shield and the interchangeable belt loops. Other than that, it's the same.

I think that the SS2 is one of hte best IWB holsters out there. I own them for the Glock 17/22, 1911 and P99.

OK but does the summer special 2 sit lower inside the waistband than the summer special does?

Excellent holster. +1 for all above.

I also carry a USPc. A similar alternative you may want to look at is a Kramer IWB #3. I've had one in horsehide for 8 yrs, excellent workmanship and quality and it wears great. It's a little pricey but worth it.

+1 on the Kramer. I have one for sale if you are interested (for a 1911). It's a new one.

From Tony's website:
Our highest riding Summer Special positions the gun about 1" higher in the waistband than our lowest riding IWB holsters, the models #1H, MMX, EX and SS-2. The VM-2 holster, depending on the model of gun it is made for, positions the gun somewhere in between the above.
