    Dumb question about shoulder holsters

But I have to ask.I'm getting an Aker Comfort Flex for a 1911. As far as I can tell Aker doesn't sell extra holsters. (as componets) Can I use any make holster? I've never had one of these before. If I like it I might want to change holsters on the harness for an XD or something, to swtch up carry.

Call Aker and ask them if you can buy other holsters from them.

Compare your holster components to those by other manufacturers, like Galco's Jackass rig, and see if you think you can make it work.

Why don't you look at a brand that allows components to be swapped out? Like a Galco Miami Classic or Jackass rig? If that's important, look at another brand that allows it.

My husband has one that was not designed with any swapouts per se. He took it to a local leatherworker and had a holster made for a different gun. Might not work for yours but worth an inquiry.

I think this is the route to go - get a rig that will accept different components. The Miami Classic is my preferred carry. Normally, I carry a 1911, but I have the components for a Beretta 92 and the convenience of compatible components is very nice.

I may go this route later. I picked up this rig pretty cheap, to see if I like shoulder carry. The Galco stuff looks pretty nice.
