As the title says....can I safely buy a holster that's listed for a Colt 1911 and have it fit the Springer correctly (assuming no light rails, etc...)?

As the title says....can I safely buy a holster that's listed for a Colt 1911 and have it fit the Springer correctly (assuming no light rails, etc...)?

Usually it's best to check with the holster maker and explain what gun you've got in case something in their design is specific to model. I would say however most holsters will work just fine with either since the dimensions of the critical parts are close enough that it should work just as it should.

Older Springfields had a wider, squared off dust cover that could affect holster fit. I don't know the cut-off date for when they came into normal specs.

This is a 2001 Loaded 1911-A1, so I'm thinking that it's "standard" 1911 specs.

Generally yes. But like Luke said if your going custom email with pics to the maker to see if they match up.
