Give me some ideas on carrying my PM9

after six years of carrying i feel like i have not fully mastered carrying "comfortably". I went from different size guns and different holsters, and have not found the holy grail so to speak.

i started off with larger guns and now am carrying a PM9 which is a good size but lately i have been fighting the urge to get a P380. my problems mostly come around in the summer when i wear cargo shorts and a T. right now i have a high-noon public secret. and it's just OK. i carry @ the 3:30 posistion and when i turn certain ways you can tell im packing heat. i really like carrying @ the 1:30 but hate that it jabs me when i bend or drive in the car. can't tell i have it there in that posistion though.

help me with some carrying positions and which holsters you reccomend. i don't really want to change my woredrobe just to carry. i like T's and jeans mostly.

How are you guys getting this done comfortably. i would really like to carry a larger cap. gun if i could hide it better.

    any suggestions.........

I am a huge fan of the Comp-Tac Minotaur and Crossbreed holsters.

The Comp-Tac is a little more comfortable when I wear a tucked t-shirt, and a polo or button up over. It also seems to hold the gun a little closer to the body (less printing).

The Crossbreed is more comfortable if wearing against the skin, with just a t-shirt or polo over.

I carry my PM9 in a Don Hume J.I.T. slide at 2:30 to 3:00 position. I wear over sized or baggy t-shirts during summer and during winter I wear a not so baggy t-shirt tucked in, then wear a larger than needed henley type shirt over top of that as a cover and for warmth.

I use the Comp-Tac Minotaur on days where I need deep concealment. I think that's about as good as it gets. But I must admit that I hate tucking around an IWB.

I've been doing military-tucks since bootcamp, so I feel like a clown with my shirt all bunched and bloused.

Please clue me in when you find that 'holy grail'.

so with the Comp-Tac Minotaur the shirt must be tucked? it looks like a pretty big holster. I don't think i'll want to tuck the shirt either for the same reason.....10years MC

Nah - it's extremely comfortable with your shirt on the outside, but then there are plenty of holsters that will ride comfortably IWB. The Comp-Tac just has a design that allows for a deeper tuck than most.

You're now going down the logic path that lead me to carry a large-caliber firearm. If it's too big for my pocket and has to go in a holster, well then that really opens up my options. I carry an officer's 3" 1911 .45 in the Comp-Tac, which is the thinnest & most comfortable config for .45 & deep concealment that I have. If I don't have to tuck, well then it's whatever I want - G26, G19, G30, even full-size 1911 can ride comfortably IWB with a shirt on the outside. Double-loop/clip holsters will provide better stability fore and aft, but are slow to put on and take off. Single clips are convenient for grab & go, but can shift around some.

Just don't be like me and try to cheap out. I have a box full o'mistakes.

You could always have your shirts altered so that there is a slit that will keep it from bunching up.

When carrying up front (1:30), try moving the holster a little more toward the centerline (12:00) so it doesn't poke you in the leg while seated. AIWB is an excellent concealment carry position with an un-tucked shirt. If you're in decent shape it shouldn't be that uncomfortable with a purpose built AIWB holster.

I carry mine in a Minituck @ 1:00 daily. Love it. I can pretty much wear anything and it is hidden. I am thinking of a Mr. Softy, but I am so satisfied with the minituck that I have not ordered one.

I carry my PM9 in a Remora #4 Appendix when I can untuck and a Kangaroo Carry when I have to tuck. The PM9 works well with the Kangaroo because it is light and will hide under just about any shirt. Once in a while, I will do a t-shirt with a Galco Classic Light shoulder holster with a thin cover shirt.

Get a desantis nemesis pocket holster and carry that pm9 in your strong side front pocket.

+1000 on the crossbreed minituck... my EDC is a PM9 and it disappears on my hip in that rig. I can hardly tell I'm carrying it... and I have a crappy belt... get a good belt and it will be even better.
