Quick Review of the 'Bandito' Holster by Trojan Tactical (pics)

Hey guys,

Just wanted to show off this nifty little item I picked up from Trojan Tactical. I was in a training class with one of the owners, and found out that he made kydex holsters.

Really great guy, and can work Kydex like a magician. (He made some prototype badge holders for myself and a couple of others in the class, out of kydex that won't absorb moisture, and also hold the badge more securely than those flimsy leather holders)

He was showing me a few of the items they make, and this little thing caught my eye. It is a little fold of Kydex with a paracord lanyard made onto it that clips over the trigger guard of the weapon to keep anything from entering it. They call it the 'Bandito'. You put your belt through the lanyard and then clip the 'holster' onto the gun and you can stick it in the waistband 'mexican style'.

When you draw the weapon from the waistband, the Bandito will let go of the gun and hang from your belt. It holds on to the weapon really well though. I can hang my S&W 340 by the lanyard and it does not fall out. (In other words, if your weapon were to slip down into your pants carrying IWB, the Bandito would hang on to it and keep it from hitting the floor.)

If you lengthen the lanyard just a small amount, you can carry it as a pocket holster. (It would just look like you had a keychain lanyard or something on your belt.)

The guys at Trojan Tactical also make a wide array of IWB / OWB / Belt / Paddle Holsters. They use a thick kydex, but it fits extremely well, with just the "right amount" of tension. They can do all the normal colors OD / Coyote / Black / and I even saw some Hot Pink! (May be getting Mrs Smitty908 one of those)

Neat idea, looks like it would complement carrying IWB with a belt-clip quite well.

Nice, I like the clear cover, what did you use to make it?

Lexan. You can purchase a 12x12 sheet at Home Depot for about $6. That size sheet will yield about 6 trigger guards.

With the lexan do you heat it with a heat gun and mold it to the triger guard?
Would love to make one.
