    Cargo Pocket Carry?

Anyone carry a S&W J frame in a cargo pocket? I know it's not the quickest draw, but it's tough to carry in shorts and I do where cargo type shorts often. What kind of holster do you suggest? Thanks!

I use a S&W 442 Airweight in a Mitch Rosen "Pocket Softy" pocket holster. Used in the pockets for hands, not pockets designed for misc. crap (ie, the various pockets on the sides and down the front/back of typical cargo pants). Works very well. With a little practice, the holster remains in the pocket and the gun comes right out. Breaks up the line of the gun very well. Draw is plenty fast.

Wouldnt using Cargo Pocket carry make drawing abit longer than in the front pockets? I use the Cargo Pockets for carrying my magazines, speedloaders (.38 cal) or other utilities, and then I use a very nice Mika Pocket Holster, which are reasonable in price of around $20 or so. Just look at the "holster links" in info bar above.

I've dropped a S&W 642 into a cargo pocket (shorts) for walks in the park with the old lady before. It's actually really annoying. Doesn't bother you when you sit around, but when you're walking all the handgun does is bang into your leg over and over. It's very concealed that way, but too annoying for me to ever do it again.

I carry my 642 in the cargo pocket and the front pocket. I have to agree that the cargo pocket is annoying when I walk. The front pocket works well. I use a Uncle Mikes #9 pocket holster.

I use a pocket holster, but I do not recommend using the cargo pockets for carry -- too much weight in those pockets to be comfortable for me.

I've tried the cargo pockets, and occasionally use them while I'm driving. I typically carry the extra mag for my BUG in a cargo pocket. However, with a good pocket holster, it's much better to put the pistol in the right front, and all the other stuff (keys, etc.) in the cargo pocket. For me, it's too long and unnatural a movement to draw from the cargo.
