Fullsize S&W 3rd Gen holster suggestions needed
I have a 4003 that I am planning on carrying when our CCW goes into effect later this year. Anyone carry one (4566,4006,5906 etc. or the alum frame and/or dao counterparts) and have holster suggestions? I'm thinking of getting both a pancake style and IWB to have options. Maybe a Desantis Speed Scabbard? Anyone use any of the Safariland pancake style holsters?
Thanks.

Shop in here!
I have several dozen different holsters from Fist...quality, quick delivery, and reasonable prices.

I carried a 5906 on duty for several years pre Glock but found it to large and heavy to bre comfortable foe CC so I got a 6906 and carried it in a Galco IWB holster.
Retsupt99 suggested Fist and that's as good a place to start as any.
I will suggest High Noon Holsters as another source.

I have a full line of holsters that will work for the 4006. I'm a big S&W fan and even support the S&W Forum in addition to here. My first carry gun was a 6946.

Nice IWB Kydex hybrids. He made one for my 1076. Also fits my 1006

Garritysgunleather supplied an IWB for my 457. It isn't a FS like the 4006 but he was able to make on that fits my third gen perfectly.

I think I would give Side Guard a heavy look. They look to be specialists in S&W.

I too have a 4006 and because it's such a heavy gun, you might want to look at holsters that have the belt loops far apart. This should help spread the weight over the belt.
Oh yeah, invest in a good high quality gun belt too.

Yeah I went with the 4003 over the 4006 because of the weight (and the one I found was in awesome shape, I assume it was either issued right before trading in or carried by an admin. Even though the 4003 is a relatively big gun, it doesn't feel much heavier than my FS M&P 9Pro, and there is something to be said for all metal guns.
I do plan on getting a good belt as well, luckily I have a few months to buy some stuff before the law takes effect.

I carry a 5906. I had Nate over at UBG whip me up a Canute. His workmanship is first rate and he gets them out fast...about 3-4 weeks. He also makes top notch matching belts/mag carriers.
