    Inexpensive Shoulder/Ankle Holster Ideas

I have a Taurus Public Defender 2" .45LC/.410 that I would like to carry in addition to my PT-1911 .45ACP.

I also just bought a Cobra .38 Special double barrel derringer and would like to carry on my ankle.

Any ideas on an inexpensive shoulder/ankle holster?

A good ankle holster is going to run you some bucks - figure $100. For a long time Alessi was the best, but newer rigs are out there. The best ones not only retain the gun well, they also allow a reasonable amount of user comfort.

I really like my Desantis Apache... About $30 - I carry a J-Frame 357 in mine. I would not expect to comfortably go much larger than that in most ankle rigs for a price point similar to that...

Ken Null's SMZ is a great choice for an inexpensive shoulder rig (I have 3), if he has one for your piece. Fantastic product with fast shipping.

+1. I discovered the SMZ over 20 years ago. A high concealment and fast shoulder holster (naturally unsnaps in the drawing motion). Really recommended for DA/SA or DAO actions due to safety reasons. It hid an HK P7 under a business suit perfectly. Thumbs up on K.Null holsters.

My Uncle Herb, always swore he could make anything cheaper, using Duct Tape!

Can appreciate that this company has low prices; but a review of their pancake holster pics shows they've no clue about safe pistol/holster interface. Interference with knuckle clearance, mag buttons, and even no provision for cocked and locked carry of the 1911s. You're not looking for a phone pouch, that's a weapon.
