Being around the house too much has lead me astray ...........
It's my first ever attempt at making a holster, it's a little rough and I've already decided to make a couple of small changes to the pattern but I thought I'd see what y'all think......

That is sweet. I usually don't respond to handmade holster threads, because they usually suck. But that looks nice.
Damn good for the first attempt,I usually make mine with a 15-20 degree forward cant.
One other thing I did on mine is I cut the outside leather high enough that it covered the ambi-safety,I ride a bike and the wind rubbing my shirt on the safety eventually started wearing holes in my shirts

Very nice work! If you hadn't said anything I'd have thought you made the purchase form a quality holster maker.![]()

You certainly have some great leather skills. That is a great looking piece of leather work.

Nice job!
Wow! way to go, my first attempt was not something I would post a picture of. VERY nice, looks like you have been at it for years.
If that's rough, I'd like to see your idea of polished and perfect.

A couple minor details that could help it look a little more polished. It looks like you drilled the holes before stitching, I'd suggest a smaller drill bit, or better yet, a diamond shaped punch. I'm sure you've probably already thought of this, but with a full sized 1911, you'll want it to ride a little higher for concealment. Just shift those wings down a tad and it should ride great.
All in all a VERY good first attempt. Much better than my first holster.
Looks great, especially for your first attempt.![]()

Outstanding for a first attempt. You may have a future in leather.![]()
