That is my understanding as well as my experience with having been stopped. There were two LEO's. I handed over my drivers license and CCW license after having declared I was armed and they ran them then came back and let me go saying "drive more carefully." I was carrying my Glock 27 with the 9 round clip. They didn't even look for the gun. I think the state law is supposed to trump all of the local laws in theory at least. We now have a few cases in court so we'll see and hopefully this current silly law will be amended.

I hope the fix the car carry stuff. It is somewhat unnerving wondering if your firearm is in plain sight 'enough' to avoid having a bad day.
