I carry my extra magazine in an outside the waistband holster. Whatever conceals my inside the waistband gun holster also covers the magazine.

Depends on clothes. Mines a small single stack magazine, so usually in front left pocket of jeans or in mag pocket on 5.11 cargo pants. Lower left on cargo shorts. I'd like an IWB or low profile mag holster. Until then, it gets in own pocket. No keys, coins, etc in the mag pocket.

G&G paddle pouches or Desantis snap pouches (both kinds are doubles) at 8:00. Unless it is a quick errand. Then, no spares. 15 rounds of 357 SIG will have to do.

I got one of those inexpensive (read: cheap) nylon mag pouches with the velcro secured closure flap for my 10 rd M&P 40c mag. The dimensions with the flap closed are 5" (long) X 2.5" (wide) and it's designed to be worn vertically with a belt loop on the back of the pouch. It looks like a utility knife or cell phone carrier pouch. However, I made a slight modification by looping three 1/2" velcro strips through the pouch's belt loop of which my belt slides through, so that I can wear it horizontially and very comfortably at 10:00 and OWB.

My holster maker (Personal Security Systems Kydex Holsters) made me a (very nice) kydex mag holster. Its dimensions are 5.5" (from bottom of mag to bottom of mag holster) X 3.5". However, when wearing it at 9:00 or 10:00 locations, the bottom of the mag which extends out of the top of the holster tends to dig into my side. If I were a competitive shooter, and I'm not, I'd probably wear this one if I were to compete due to its quicker access design.

I've practiced removing the mag from the nylon pouch (versus the kydex one) and there is around a one second, if that, difference between the two. In the unlikely event that I'll ever need my extra mag, I'm willing to live (or die!) with that difference.

BTW, welcome to the forum Michigander, or is it Michiganian?

Extra mag, (Glock 19, 22, 23, 27 or XD .45 Compact) is either in a Don Hume leather clip-on holder or a Blackhawk clip on mag holder.

As stated above, front left pocket is dedicated to spare 8 round mag alone.

Matching mag pouch for each holster. But sometimes just back pocket carry.
