    686 ankle holster?

im seeking an ankle holster for a 2.5" smith 686. it would require a forward cant or the grip would never fit under my pant leg. the above pictured "life saver ankle holster" from "triple k" could work, but i would appreciate other recommendations by which to compare.
    thanks,

Not to rain on anyones parade , but i suspect that walking with anything even approching a normal gait would be almost impossible with the weight of a 686 on one ankle . At least i shure would not find it comfortable , or concealable due to the gait .

Remember the late Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein? Not Igor...EYE-gor. Walk THIS way Master! No...THIS way....(hunches over and stumbles along).

Yeah, you wear a 'Smith 686 that way, you'd better hope you don't fall into the deep end of a pool or into a river. Forget swimming...just sink to the bottom and WALK out!

I think you might now have an idea why it is hard to find an ankle holster for this gun.

NS, I replied to your other 686 thread. What we like should never be allowed to dominate what works- your life may depend on it.

A custom 686, with shortened, rounded butt could be made for ankle carry, but in any real-world event, it would be a poor substitute for a pocket-stick on your beltline. J frames are available in .357 mag, and have been carried "deep cover" in various body-locations, for years. You don't have any practical gain with the greater size/weight for a single extra round of .357/.38.

I carry a Glock 27 on my ankle in a fobus ankle holster. Mostly when driving long periods but have been known to go out with it on my ankle. No gait problem at all. My left leg is stronger than the right though.

An, ankle holster, I don't know in my opinion don't know if a civilian has much use for one. Why not, a small pistol in pocket holster like a kel-tec or something. You would have a rough time reaching down to pick that thing from your leg.

I'm sure you do. But 686 is a significantly heavier gun:

Glock 27 empty weight: 19.75 oz.
    Smith-Wesson 686 empty weight: 35 oz.

Compairing a G27 to a 686 is like compairing a Mac 18 wheeler to a 3/4 ton pick up. If your someone whos 6'6" 300# it might work, but dang I'd love to see a normal person walk, much less run to catch a train with a 686 on their ankle. Thats one hugh ankle gun, LOL.

I carry a G27 in a Galco Glove Ankle Holster and thats heavy enough. I'd try to pick a different way to carry or a different gun, if possible.
