Yup, never point the barrel towards anything you don't intend to shoot. (one reason I don't use appendix carry, especially if sitting).

    How?

I seriously want to know what sort of pistol this was.

I've carried pistols in my waistband since about 1966 or so. Mostly cocked and locked Government Models and double-action revolvers with a few DA/SA autopistols as well. I've never had a problem. Never had a 'premature' shot fired; never got the pistol hung up on clothing so it wouldn't come out - with one exception; I did catch a hammer spur of a DA revolver on my shirt and rip a four or five inch hole on the right side of a good white shirt once. But no real problems. Okay, guns do shift a bit. I have also used the appendix carry, both holster and non-holster.

I will admit I will not carry a Glock in such fashion. I just do not like that trigger safety under such conditions.

How in blazes do people shoot themselves this way? I've always been aware I could blast myself if not careful. I regularly attend church. I do not claim to be the only professional.

But I've never had a serious problem. From what I read, I should be either dead or crippled, one way or another. Am I doing something wrong? Or something right?

Okay. Even with my experience, I prefer holster carry. The gun stays put better (so one knows where to grab for it) and it is more secure. Also, it looks more 'legit'. Someone who is carrying illegally tend to not use holsters as getting rid of a pistol 'tucked' is much easier than getting rid of a holster.

Of course, I still have holsters with the trigger guard uncovered. (Passes out smelling salts...)

    Nick? Go to your room.

Well, look at the bright side, he can carry a bigger weapon now. (or a little bit bigger, his wife would have to answer that)

As Chandler residents Joshua Seto, 27, and his fiancne, Cara Christopher, walked over to a Fry's Food Store for refreshments, he tried securing her pink handgun in the front waistband of his pants.
OK, I will ask the question. How the heck was she carrying the weapon? It sounds like she was just wandering around with the thing in her hand so she gave it to him to secure. Regardless of the fact that he did a poor job of handling the weapon, why could/did she not store it herself? Just wondering about the logistics of this whole thing.
