I do own a vest, but it's hardly what I would call a "shoot me vest." It's a Carhartt work vest with a sherpa lining. I wear it this time of the year when the temps fluctuate between the high 40's and 70's. The morning can be a little chilly, but you can wear the vest throughout the day and not be sweating when it gets warmer. I've actually had people compliment me on this vest and another Carhartt jacket I have saying they look "dressy". I have several different Carhartt coats and they are some of the most durable and warmest I have ever owned.

I wear a Carhartt vest, too. Only mine is without the collar

They certainly have a wide variety of options and colors, pretty much something for everyone even if you aren't in construction. I only wish they were made in the USA. They are made in Mexico (and some tags say with USA components) so thats probably as close as we are going to get, at least it isn't China.

It may seem silly but I needed some jeans. So I went to Meijers in my area. I buy wranglers cause I refuse to buy levis if I can help it since they are anti gun. Anyways I found some with elastic bands on the inside of the waste band. I laughed and looked at them. Normal jeans on the outside. But inside elastic to allow them to expand up to two inches. Perfect for IWB ccw. They are comfortable. Cheap at 19.00 a pair. They wear well and I dont scream gun. Best of all I do not have to have one set of jeans for IWB and one for regular carry. I have since bought four pair and a few friends have bought some too. Try them! Oh and if you are a pocket carry type person the pockets are cut large.

John Farmam mentioned the Cabela's Safari Vest a few years ago.

No multiple pockets for a very clean look.

    I've about worn mine out.

People ask me if I'm going fishing or hunting..works for me.

The newer ones have more pockets these days.

Carhartt vest for the winter though.

I like my 5.11 vest.... for work as a plain clothed (not undercover) LEO. Otherwise a flat bottom button-up shirt/T-shirt with an under-shirt works for just about everything, warm, cold and in-between. So many pockets you don't know where some of your stuff is.

I often wear a "hickory" shirt - I had my wife take the tails off and hem it flat so it looks natural untucked.

Nothing says "HEY! I'M CARRYING!" more than a boldly labeled 5.11 Tactical line of clothes. Tacky.

I never thought of that. When I was in 2nd grade teachers told us that bad boys wore their shirts untucked. Since I was raised to respect my Elders
I just grew up tucking in my T shirts and regular shirts. Even when I wear squared off BDU shirts I tuck them in. I eventually tore the bottom pockets off a BDU shirt so it would stay tucked in better. Basically I just can't stand to wear any shirt untucked.

I reckon it's a dang good thing I wasn't taught to wear my boxers outside of my jeans/cargo's.
