For pocket carry of my 642, I use an Uncle Mike's #3.

Got it as a temporary, "cheapie" holster, but it has worked very well for 2 years now.

The Uncle Mike's narrow overall dimensions make it pretty versatile.

I can carry in front pocket of khakis, or the inside breast pocket of a jacket with no printing.

Had a 642. Had a pocket holster. Had a real lump of iron in my pocket. If and when I pocket carry it is with a small 380--no more lump of iron in pocket. To each his own.

+1 for Mika. Presentation of grip in pocket and draw are excellent. Carry my S&W 642 and S&W M&P 340 regularly. Own three of his holsters. They are not the prettiest but they sure work!

I have tried nearly all of them and the winner is MIKA. It stay in the pocket and the draw is smooth.

Mika for inexpensive. Mike Meredith at PCS for a really great pocket holsters. Mike will advise you on which holster to choose based on the type of pants pockets you primarily wear. BTW, Lou Alessi used to endorse Mike's holsters. That says it all...Tom

Hard to beat a Mika for the money. Replaced a Nemesis that just wouldn't stay in the pocket. No such problem with a Mika.

    Mika's Pocket Holsters

I've just ordered two of Robert Mika's pocket holsters. I know they can't be beat at four times the price. Both are for S&W 340PDs, one for myself and one for the Little Lady.
    Now the wait begins.

I had the same problem with the Nemesis, so I also went with the Mika. I liked the thinness of the Nemesis, but it did not stay in my pocket.

I don't consider the 642 much of a pocket gun, it can be - but it's a job best left for something like a TCP or LCP in my opinion. My Kahr's were smaller than the 642 and I dididn't even think those were good pocket guns.

That said... I have a Desantis Superfly that works really well, just a tad thick with the extra flat attached. It also doubles as an IWB holster in a pinch and works just as good as the Remora in my experience.
