    I second that!

Please tell me you are not going to leave it in your car all the time but only for your long trip,

If I take a second pistol, it would ride in a holster, either in the console, or somewhere near it, plus of course the one I have on me.
    I like Stubborns idea.
Will have to contemplate a holster for that type application and mount it for LH grab.

Plenty of deals on the lefty holsters. I am a lefty but shoot right. I picked up a couple used leather left holsters at a local show for $5 and $10 bucks each. thought I would try them. Looks like you could rig something real easy. I think I would also want the left hand holster for that purpose.

    Surely your doors have pockets?
I think on yourself is best, but for the long haul, you'll need to find what works best in the vehicle, and according to state laws where you go. You have my best wishes.

Long trip? Many states? Different rules on CC in a car. Different CC on your person. Get all your facts in order before you take replies as gospel on your situation. For example--in SC any firearm in a car must be in your center console or your glove compartment or in the trunk of the car (holsters become irelevant if the holster is not in one of the compartment), unless you are have a CCWP in which case you can have the firearm on your person as covered by your CCWP.

Mine fits nicely in the current holster I have in the glove box of both my car and my wifes car. It's going to ride there if it's not on me.

Kingston car seat holster from Desantis. I have one and it works great. I'm a south paw too but have the driver side set up as a right handed draw. I practice with both hands and eyes.

These guys make a version of the under-the-dash holster that's a bit more elegant. I have the console mounted version and love it...

I am a big fan of Magnetic Gun Holsters. they can be mounted any place in any position and at any angle. it don't matter if you are left or right handed.

you need to check the laws in each state that you plan on visiting, in FLA some of those rigs would not be legal
