    Leather Mold

    Where does one buy the gun frame molds used to make leather holsters with. My son is "pondering" the idea of making a holster for my new gun for a high school arts project.

    If you have the gun, it's best to use it. I guess he couldn't really do it at school, though.

    If they don't have it, www.duncansoutdoor.com has aluminum casts.

    You might find a kind holster maker to loan you one, what kind of gun???

    Well in all honestly....YOUR GUN is the one Id let him use. I get better fit, details and molding when I use my real hardware. If you want the details of what to do, you can call me anytime.

    Slightly off topic. But I must say I commend Eric Larsen for openly helping others in the business he is in for a living. Mark Garrity has also did the same with a post where he recommended a butterknife, which he said he has used for many years. Absolutely nothing but respect for these men who share secrets with common people, up and coming leathermakers, and just about anyone who asks for their help. Being in the A/C and Refrigeration business, that likens our business to guide a customer through a tech call about their AC, virtually eliminating ourselves from the picture. Although the business aspects are worlds apart, I cant help but feel like these individuals are here to help us out any way they can. I will be purchasing leather from both of these makers in the future, just to show my appreciation for all that they have done for members of this forum.

    Now,... back to the real topic. Just wanted to express my opinion.
