This time of year I am usually wearing just a regular zipper front fleece vest. Buy it in a Tall size for OWB. That's about as non-tactical as you can get.

Golf Wind shirts/Vest work well too.
Half Zip Fleece or Sweaters that have no elastic bottom work well. Columbia, Patagonia, NorthFace, REI make these.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt
The shirts I have to wear at work are clingy (yes they are the appropriate size, it's the non-cotton material and cut, and no I don't work at Hooters) so I use a vest as another layer to help with printing issues. I wear it all year at work which is indoors and relatively (slightly, the heat works better than the a/c) climate controlled. I run a little hot anyways so no lining is ideal for me. Fleece or any other lining would make joker1 a little hot under the collar.
The Columbia vest I wear has the obligatory side pockets for resting your hands, these pockets each have an exterior zipper which opens to another pocket. There is a zippered pocket on the right chest and a velcro tabbed pocket on the left chest. An inside left chest pocket and an inner pocket on the lower right side. Pocket linings are basically breathable mesh material. The vest has both zippered and snap closure and is lightweight. I picked this up at a Bass Pro in KC while on vacation, wasn't real thrilled with the price (or that it is made in Vietnam) but after looking at every clothing store in all of the malls we went to and Cabelas it was all I could find that wasn't fleece lined or 5.11 (tacticool). It's not ideal but it works for what I need.

If you dress like a cowboy anyway this works. DR
I am down here in Branson enjoying myself and was at a levi outlet store. There was the perfect vest and it is now all mine. It does not look like a levi product and was about 70 bucks which I am not prone to spend for a vest but it was so dressy and the right length. The material is also sturdy enough to not print at all. It has more of a brown material outside and insulated inside but it is headed to church with me and for daily concealed carry. I may end up going down there and buy another one before I leave I like it that much.
These look good, I would normally have no idea on this but I got a catalog in the smail today...

Training means learning the rules. Experience means learning the exceptions.
Take a look at Scottevest. They definitely don't have a "tactical" look to them.
