New Crossbreed holster odor

Purchased a CB holster from a guy who tried it for all of 20 minutes. Looks new, lays perfectly flat. But it has a strange 'chemical' odor. Is this normal for new Crossbreed holsters?

My only other experience with Crossbreed holsters was a well-used one that had the familiar cowhide leather smell.

i dont have one but i would bet he put some kind of sealer on it. i would get some leather conditioner and wipe it down real good and i bet it would smell like leather then

Let it air out. Some of the sealers will accumulate some smell if they are bagged up. I would not worry about cleaning it unless it stays for a while. The guy that bought it first might have put something on it too.

I know some of that "mink oil" conditioner smells weard. It maybe something simular.

Just received my new Appendix Carry 2 days ago, never noticed any smell besides leather.
