I made a Kydex holster today.

Though www.leatherslinger.net made me a very fine pair of holsters I had to try it myself so I finally got my 1í x 2í piece of Kydex in today and made myself a holster for my G23 and a magazine. It turned out okay but have not worn it around yet. It does come out of the holster faster than leather but certainly nothing to look at compared to leatherslingerís work.

Yeah where did ya egt your supplies?
I wouldn't make a holster, as i have pleny of them (see box), but i sure could see some uses for a strong, yet bendable and formable piece of plastic like that.

Solo, I converted a Bladetech crossdraw, IWB, to a strong-side appenxix, by making a J hook belt clip. You can get kydex, and related goodies from www.jantzsupply.com or www.knifekits.com
Easy to work with a heat-gun, though for a holster, you'd want to make, or buy, a foam-press outfit.

If I were making a holster, I'd get the .090", instead of the .060", kydex. Live n learn.....

I have ordered from knife kits .com before. they seem to take forever to deliver. I have been crafting a few holsters for my guns. Leather is nice, but a bit thick for me , atleast for summer carry.

    CLICK ON THIS LINK

It's a DVD rental service. The DVD rental cost is 9.99 per week.

Scroll down to KYDEX Sheath Making Instruction Video in their knife making section. The above link should put you right on that page.

Okay. I know youíve asked for proof so here it is. It took so long to post because I didnít like the way the belt retention turned out so I changed it completely.

I now have an IWB tuckable which works pretty good. I also made a IWB tuckable magazine carrier and a little holster for my Bench Made knife. Iím pleased with the way that you can hardly see the belt retention holders. I made it a split holder because I tend to carry at about 1 o'clock and thatís where my belt loop is.

    Here is a front shot.

    Here is the back.

    Holster in place- full tuck.

Holster on outside to show where they are.

Iím pleased for my first holster. Iím already planning an OWB and a competition holster later. Iím going to make a holster for my bed side which will hang off the side with the left over kydex. I bought a 1í x 2í piece from http://www.classicknifekits.com/kk_1mainframe.htm

Very nice. You can get the "hand boned " look by heating the side w/ gun in place and pressing hard with a foam covered board. i usually do 1 side at a time.
