I've done this for years, with a fabbed-up one. The moment Kydex came out, the "light" came on. The "leg" that goes between the matresses should be longer, IMO, and it should have Velcro on the "leg" and at least the box springs portion of the mattress to ensure it stays put. Placed at the head of the bed (gap between headboard and bed). Catches all of the dust bunnies off the bed, but otherwise it's a design that works very, very well.
