220 compact SAS (gen2) for me. I carry it with a Phoenix Stronghold IWB or in a 5.11 holster shirt.

For all those wondering if a wiry guy (6', 150#) can carry a somewhat large gun - it's quite comfortable with a good belt and holster.

Sometimes I'll grab the 938 too - also IWB.

I just bought my first gun, a P938 which has been a joy to break in. This forum has helped my learning curve immensely as I have very little experience with concealed carry and just have to research it to the bitter end. I will have my CWP soon, and have bought a N82 IWB holster that I like quite a bit. Wearing it around the farm this last week, it is so comfortable I do forget it is on. Now I just have to become proficient with this system.

Glad to hear that so many folks here are sporting full size Sigs. I went small as I could for the first EDC gun, but would be more comfortable with a 226 on my hip.

I have a Glock 26 that has been my EDC for the last 7 years but am getting my "dream" (Sig P220 Carry Equinox) next week. I fell in love with the looks of the P220 Equinox but it was only in the full size and it wasn't comfortable for me to shoot. Besides, I couldn't carry anything that large, especially with a dress or business suit. However, the Sig "carry" versions are quite comfortable to shoot and more or less the same size as my Baby Glock so I don't foresee any difficulty with concealed carry. All of the Sigs have a great reputation so you are pretty safe with any style/caliber. Cost will probably be more of a factor. One note, although I haven't shot them yet, the Sig P250 looks like a very carry-able gun and is very comfortably priced! My only concern re my Equinox is, I have had multiple LEs and retired military (I'm surrounded by an entire family full of retired Navy spec ops and intelligence specialists!) warn that if a citizen uses his/her gun, it is frequently taken during the investigation and, if it is nice (e.g. a .45 cal Equinox!), it disappears! So, my Equinox may stay home - at least until the "new" wears off.

One last piece of advice and then I'll shut up. My family (the Navy guys, remember?) were on my case to get a Sig to begin with but I just didn't find one that I liked to shoot on the range at that time. Be sure to try several different guns (not just manufacturers, but also styles and sizes) to find that one that is comfortable enough that you will take it to the range REGULARLY and practice. The worst thing you can do is buy a gun because someone tells you too or because it looks pretty. SHOOT IT!!! LOTS!!! Then, if you LIKE shooting it, you will LIKE practicing with it, and you will LIKE carrying it.

I carry a Sig Ultra Compact 1911 in .45 as my daily carry gun.
No one ever said it'd be easy.

When I carry my P229 it's either IWB in a High Noon Down Under, AIWB in a Garrett Industries Slim, or OWB in a Personal Security Systems Kydex Rig. Excellent choice in firearms by the way, P229's are one of my favorite handguns. I've owned three over the years and my current is an SCT model in .40 S&W.

I have Sig Sauer P239 in 9mm, was a gift from my dad. My bf put rubber grips on it for me (because I almost dropped it once when we were shooting it) It helped. I usually keep in in my purse. After looking at the threads for women here, now I want to get it painted pink lol.

Carry a Sig P229 Elite dark in .40 S&W OWB @ 4:00 from a local holsterer (is that a word?)
Picked it up day after Christmas and LOVE it. Still like my Hi-Power, but not for carry.

I occasionally carry my Sig 229 SAS Gen2, and get by with a Galco CCP (concealment Paddle). However, unless you purchase a properly sturdy belt (thick, and a width of 1.25" or larger I've found), and wear it tight enough to give even the skinniest amongst us a respectable muffin top, the gun rides way too far away from your body for CC. The imprint is far too noticable unless used with a jacket or thick (flannel or heavier) cover shirt. I find that I am able to carry strongside at 1:00-2:00 and at 4:00-5:00 with the least amount of imprinting. It does work nicely for a secure and sleek looking open carry holster. I wish I had bought the looped version instead, or the SC2, both of which were mentioned earlier in this thread.

Has anyone ever carried a 229 with a shoulder rig?? It seems like a weapon of ideal frame size and overall weight for that setup.

I routinely carry Sigs. I have a Ted Blocker model 12 IWB that is pretty convenient. I also have Don Hume and Gould and Goodrich pancakes. For my P228 I have a Kramer MSP paddle that I like.

Take a look at SHTF Gear Holsters. The same comfortable hybrid design you are used to but with added features you won't find elsewhere.

You can find all of our Sig holster options here (A pretty extensive list) Sig Sauer

And here are the links for our 229 options.

    I have a 225 but I don't carry it at all.

I would love to get a SIG 226/220/238/1911 at some point

No it won't disappear. When your firearm is taken into evidence, you get a ticket or receipt(kinda like a claim check), so you can get your firearm back after the investigation is concluded.

I CC a P238. Does that count? I also have W. German P6 but I don't carry it. I am too skinny to conceal anything bigger than the P238.

    Who's carrying a Sig?

I have a P229 no rail with night sights in .40S&W and .357 Sig that I carry in a bag in my car. Sometime I switch it out to a P250 9mm compact with a green laser. The P250 is the biggest gun bargain I have ever come across and I also have the P250 sub compact exchange kit in .40 S&W. And the Sig that stays on me at all times is my P238 in a Pocket Holster from Guru Dave.
